Girls- Bulldogs 52 Patriots 39

In a game that saw the Lady Bulldogs jump out to an early 17- 6 lead and not look back, it was Hampton’s ability to hit the 3-pointer that was the difference. The game would serve as Dewayne Humphrey’s first victory as head basketball coach of the Lady Bulldogs. Taylor Berry would lead the charge for the Lady Bulldogs, scoring 18 points, while Hannah Smith would chip in 9. The Lady Bulldogs will travel to take on Tennessee High on Saturday at 4 pm. Post-game Head Coach Dewayne Humphrey would talk about this first win at the helm: “This is not about me, it’s about the girls. This a reflection of what they did in the off-season and their preparation, effort and hard work. We have to play at that same level every night if we do that and we’ll see if we can’t get some more wins this season,” Humphrey said.

Boys-Bulldogs 79, Patriots 74

In a see-saw game, the Bulldogs would build a 9-point-first-half lead and then hold off the Patriots, who would rally several times, taking the Bulldog lead to just 4 points at the end of the 3rd period.  Micheal Anspaugh would go 8-14 from the court and hit four 3-pointers to lead the charge for the Bulldogs. Bryce Fagan would go a perfect 7-7 while chipping in 16, and Hayden Campbell added 14 while also grabbing six rebounds. Fresh off the turf, Patriots quarterback Drake Fisher would pour in 29 to lead all scorers. The Bulldogs will hit the road to take on Daniel Boone on Saturday; tip-off is scheduled for 6 pm.
