“He starts making these threes and I was happy to let him shoot twos,” Warriors head coach Shane Williams said. “He is a tough matchup. We got down by 10 in the second quarter and couldn’t get over the hump.”

Chuckey-Doak led 13-10 after one period and went on a second quarter run with Derry connecting on three treys as the Black Knights took a 33-24 halftime advantage. The Knights continued to pull away as the Warriors shooting touch went cold and C-D led 53-35 going into the final stanza.

Darian Jackson and Ron Paul Parker each scored a team-high nine points, with Austin Nickles and AJ Campbell each having six points.

“Jackson missed some shots he usually makes,” Williams said. “He’s a freshman and very talented, which is why I play him on JV. He needs to play as much basketball as he can and he needs to put on some weight and get stronger.”
