Dr. T.J. Mitchell, a board-certified internal medicine physician, believes patients deserve a doctor who will be thorough and diligent and who relates to them on an individual level – something he works to achieve with every patient at every visit. ETSU Health is pleased to welcome Dr. Mitchell to their Internal Medicine – Johnson City clinic.
Dr. Mitchell is a native of Morristown and has lived in East Tennessee his whole life. He looks forward to meeting more of the people of the region as he serves as their physician.
“I enjoy the interaction that I get to have with the patients every day, getting to do treatments and disease education, and really making a difference in folks’ lives,” Dr. Mitchell said.
Dr. Mitchell joined ETSU Health because of his rich history with East Tennessee State University. As a graduate of ETSU’s Quillen College of Medicine, he feels that the faculty and staff there are an extension of his family. He looks forward to the opportunity to both practice medicine in an area that he loves and to also help train the next generation of physicians.
Dr. Mitchell completed his internal medicine residency at University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine, in Knoxville, where he served as chief resident. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine.
