Harold Dean Brown, 76, of Roan Mountain, Tenn., passed away peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2023, at the Waters of Roan Highlands Nursing Home. Harold was born in Avery County, N.C., to the late Charles Brown and Hazel Johnson Parlier. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Brian Brown; a nephew, Charles Banner; and a niece, Shawnee Cornett.
Harold retired from Sugar Mountain Golf Course where he had worked as a groundskeeper. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Harold was very loved and will be missed greatly.
Those left to cherish Harold’s memory include his sisters, Judy Banner and Mary Lou Cornett, both of Roan Mountain; his brother, Kenneth Brown of Roan Mountain; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private graveside service was conducted in the Brown Cemetery (Smith Branch Road) in Roan Mountain. The family would like to especially thank the staff of the Waters of Roan Highlands for the loving care given to Harold during his illness.
