Delores Holtsclaw Jarrett, age 91, of Roan Mountain, TN, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, December 15, 2023, at The Waters of Roan Highlands. She was born on July 30th, 1923, to the late Beecher and Edith Barnett Holtsclaw. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Vester Jarrett; three brothers, Cecil Holtsclaw, Dennis Holtsclaw and J.L. Holtsclaw; two nephews, Dennis Allen Holtsclaw and Christopher Holtsclaw and one niece, Lori Holtsclaw.

Delores loved to cook country meals at her restaurant. She enjoyed gardening and was very good at it. Delores attended Roan Mountain Holiness Church since she was 22 years old. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Claire Malito and husband Paul, of Lake Worth, FL; two sons, Larry Jarrett and Terry Jarrett and wife Ramona; nieces and nephews, Sandra Hughes, Jill Hesterman, Sherry Lowe, Cecilia Holtsclaw, Beecher Holtsclaw and Gerald Holtsclaw; two sister’s-in-law, Margaret Holtsclaw and Donna Holtsclaw. 

A service to celebrate the life of Delores will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, in the Rhododendron Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Roan Mountain with Reverend Don Julian officiating. The family will receive friends between the hours of 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service on Wednesday. 

The graveside service and interment will follow in the Jarrett Cemetery, Gibbs McMahan Cemetery Rd, Roan Mountain. Pallbearers will be chosen from family and friends. 

Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Roan Mountain Volunteer Fire Department, 8478 US-19E, Roan Mountain, TN 37687.
