Janet A. Kent has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Drawing on years of expertise in security and background investigations for security clearances, Ms. Kent presently excels as a background investigator for OmniPlex and Peraton. Prior to obtaining her current role, she worked as a special investigator at Perspecta (formerly KeyPoint Government Solutions) from 2014 until 2019. During the early stages of her career, Ms. Kent gained valuable expertise in the security industry with USIS, Murray Guard Security, Walt Disney World, and the U.S. Army, through which she served in the military police through the mid-1980s until the early 1990s.
An expert in her field, Ms. Kent holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and criminal justice from East Tennessee State University, Johnson City. Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, she aligns herself with Association of Certified Background Investigators. Outside of her work, she contributes to her community and those less fortunate through a Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, as she and her mother are both breast cancer survivors.
While her career has been filled with highlights, Ms. Kent takes pride in her work at Walt Disney World, which provided her with a security manager job that both challenged her and motivated her daily. Each day brought unique experiences, including celebrity sightings, and being part of the Grand Openings for Coronado Springs Resort, Disney Animal Kingdom, and being the K-9 supervisor during the Millennium Celebration. The cornerstone of her success lies with her parents and grandmothers, who instilled in her the core values of respect, the courage to do the right thing and determination. In the coming years, Ms. Kent intends to continue working as long as her health permits and in her free time she enjoys fishing, reading, camping, and traveling.
