John Edward “Buzz” Glover Sr., 82, Hampton, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023, at Johnson City Medical Center. He was born May 9, 1941 in Carter County to the late James Paul and Julia Johnson Glover.
Buzz retired from the Robert Bosch Company. He loved drag racing, building cars, deer hunting and fishing. He was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Henry “Bud” Glover; a sister, Marilyn Carr; and an infant sister, Evelyn.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Pat Whitehead Glover; three children, John Glover Jr. and wife Tina, James Glover and wife Patty and Kevin Glover and wife Amanda; three grandchildren, James A. Glover, Natalie Glover and Juliana Glover; three step-grandsons, Jacob Hill, Marcus Hill and Ryan Crumley; one step-granddaughter, Gracie Crumley; two sisters, Mary Dimarco and Nancy Stevens and husband Stanley; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, January 5, in the D.O. Johnson Family Cemetery with Richard Tester and Earroll Campbell doing the Eulogies. Active pallbearers will be George Livingston, James Whitehead, Tony Carr, Larry Whitson, Todd Jones and Terry Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Phil White, Darrell Johnson, Randy Guinn, Toby Guinn and his former racing buddies and friends. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Friday, prior to the graveside service. Condolences may be sent to the family at our website, www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
