Sharon May Walker, 79, passed away on January 1, 2024. Sharon was born and raised in Rock Springs, Wyo., with her siblings, Mary Louise Brodie (Routh) and Jack Routh, who simply adored their little sister. Sharon received her teaching credentials from Westminster College and touched the lives of many children.
Sharon met and married the love of her life, Gordon Walker, and they eventually made their home together in Elizabethton, Tenn. She retired from the Carter County Public Library where she shared her love of books with people of all ages.
Sharon sewed beautiful quilts and knitted creations and was a member of the Carter County Fiber Arts Group. Sharon will be remembered by her family and friends as a kind and gentle lady with a positive attitude and fun-loving spirit.
She is survived by her beloved dogs, Lucy and Teddy.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at First Christian Church, Elizabethton, in the Spring of 2024. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Recovery Soldiers Ministries or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
