To the Editor:
The Southern Restaurant was a historic eating place in downtown Elizabethton, and I miss it! It had real Southern cooking and it was a good place to eat, to meet with friends, and to take visitors. Perhaps a poem dedicated to them will persuade them to come back.
ODE TO THE SOUTHERN RESTAURANT
I miss you Southern, Oh, yes I do!
There is no other place that’s quite like you.
When I can’t eat lunch there I’m blue.
Oh Southern, I miss you!
Won’t you please come back?
