VFW Post 2166 and the Post Auxiliary are partnering with Second Harvest Food Bank for a food distribution event benefiting veterans and their families who require assistance. The distribution will take place on Friday, Jan. 12, at 2 p.m. at the VFW Post, located at 2001 West Elk Ave., Elizabethton.
Participants in the food distribution are requested to have space available in their trunk for the food box and to open their trunk upon reaching the line at the post. They can remain in their car, and the food box will be loaded for them. The distribution will be conducted with no person-to-person contact to safeguard each individual’s health.
To assist Second Harvest in estimating the number of food boxes needed, please call David Batchelder at the Carter County Veterans Service Office at 542-1824 to sign up if you plan to attend the food distribution. This step will help ensure that an adequate amount of food is available.
