Jerry William Triplett, 75, Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2024, after an extended illness. He was born September 6, 1948 in Mountain City.
Jerry was a 1967 graduate of Johnson County High School. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a retired truck driver and a former employee of Summers-Taylor Inc. and Baker Construction.
Jerry was a member of Dashiell Masonic Lodge #238, the Elizabethton Elks Lodge #1847 and a lifetime member of the VFW Post #2108, Johnson City. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Mountain City.
He was preceded in death by his father, Glasco Triplett.
Survivors include a daughter, Stacy Triplett and her fiancé, Charlie Harris; his mother, Helen Lowe Triplett, Elizabethton; three sisters, Janet Greene and husband Don, Bristol, Tenn., Susan Broyles, Johnson City, and Martha O’Quinn and husband Harry, Johnson City; one brother, Glenn Triplett, Jefferson City, Tenn.; one niece, Jeri Cox; and one nephew, Donnie Greene. Two great-nieces and one great-great-niece also survive.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 13, in the Reece Memorial Cemetery, Mountain City, with Pastor Richard Stout officiating. Interment will follow the service. Military Honors will be provided by the Johnson County Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Friends may register their presence at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Friday. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Saturday.
