Elbert Jerry Garrison, 84, Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024, at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Roy F. and Alta Davis Garrison.
Jerry was a graduate of Hampton High School. He served in the United States Air Force. He was a retired millwright at Tennessee Eastman and a member of Valley Forge Christian Church. He loved to hunt and fish and was an avid UT Football Fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Garrison; a daughter, Cindy Austin; a son, Glen Garrison; a step-daughter, Robin Colbaugh; a step-son, Roger Edney; a sister, Doris Arnold; and a brother, Jack Garrison.
Survivors include two step-daughters, Kathy Rose and husband Bruce, Nashville, Tenn., and Sherrie Edney, Elizabethton; one sister, Brenda Joyce Stout, Bloomington, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a step-daughter-in-law, Barbara Edney.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 18, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor David Siebenaler officiating. Interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Military Honors will be provided. The family would like to express a special thank you to his caregiver, Sarah Steele, and the doctors and nurses at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.
