• Saturday, February 3
The first in a gardening seminar series by Ben Hunter will be held at Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park. The seminar will be held in the Community Room from 9 a.m. to noon, and is free to the public. The seminar, sponsored by the Northeast Tennessee Master Gardeners and Sycamore Shoals State Park, will center on raised beds and composts. Presented by Master Gardener Ben Hunter, the seminar will provide information on how to make gardening simpler and easier with less weeds, no plowing, no rototilling, no hoeing, start earlier and end later. The seminar is open to the public.
Boozy Creek Community Center, 1989 Shelleys Road, Bristol, Va., will hold a Fish and Chicken Meal at 4 p.m. The meal will be served with lots of delicious sides, a large variety of homemade desserts, and drinks. Music will be provided by “Harlan Country Grass” from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Cathy Baker will be giving away door prizes at 4:45 p.m. A large attendance is expected, so come early. Weigh-in begins at 5:30-6:30 p.m. with the meeting starting at 6:45 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings.
