The Bonnie Kate Theater will host the Bonnie Kate Community Theatre’s production of the Broadway classic “Godspell,” which will be performed March 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, and 24 at 7:30 p.m. with matinee performances March 17 and 23 at 2:30 p.m.
Godspell was the first major musical theatre offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award winner, Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Children of Eden), and it took the world by storm. Led by the international hit, “Day by Day,” Godspell features a parade of beloved songs, including “Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord,” “Learn Your Lessons Well,” “All for the Best,” “All Good Gifts,” “Turn Back, O Man” and “By My Side.”
Godspell is a delightful and poignant rock-opera that represents a unique and thoughtful view of Jesus. His followers become a tight-knit, supportive community as they reenact parables. This modern retelling of biblical parables is a joyous celebration of music, mime, comedy and slapstick. The story of Godspell speaks to the passion of Jesus Christ to instill love and joy in the hearts of the people and the pillars of loving our neighbor, forgiveness, inclusivity, and celebration.
Tickets which are now on sale can be purchased at the regular price of $18 through the opening days. Tickets are available at tickets.bonniekatetheater.org
