Ginger Marie Irick, 35, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed tragically on Friday, February 16, 2024. Born November 8, 1988 in Johnson City, Tenn., she was the beloved daughter of Darrell and Lena Irick.
Ginger was a 2007 graduate of Hampton High School and later earned her cosmetology degree at Jenny Lea Academy. She was employed at Polish Nail Bar, Kingsport, where she had many beloved coworkers and loyal clientele.
Ginger had a zest for life. She enjoyed the arts and loved to draw and paint. Music, travel, the beach, beauty, and fashion were among her favorite hobbies and interests. Above all of these, she treasured being a mother the most.
Predeceased by her father, Darrell Irick, Ginger’s legacy is carried on by her two young children, Amari Jenkins and Haley Irick; mom, Lena Irick; sister, April Nave; brother, Cody Irick; brother-in-law, Charles Nave; grandmother, Shirley Irick; and close family friend, Alecia Irick. She also leaves behind a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles who will deeply miss her gentle spirit and generous heart.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you and their deepest gratitude to the first responders and good samaritans that cared for and comforted Ginger in her final moments. Your kindness and compassion can never be repaid and will never be forgotten.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Centerview Church of Christ, Elizabethton, on Friday, March 1. Receiving of friends will be from 6 to 7 p.m. with the service to immediately follow.
Ginger was a ray of sunshine to all who knew her. She was a devoted, hardworking, and selfless mother, daughter, sister, and friend who touched so many lives. Her beautiful smile, infectious laughter, caring heart, and witty sense of humor will be the cherished memories her family holds so dear.
