Tony Edward Elliott, 81, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away on Wednesday, March 6,

2024, at Ivy Hall Nursing Home in Elizabethton. Tony was born in Carter County to the late

Henry and Juanita (Davis) Elliott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by

his beloved wife, Linda Sue (Burrough) Elliott, in 2021; a sister, Sandy K. Stevens; a brother,

Danny R. Elliott; a nephew, Bobby Stevens; and special neighbors, Gladys Burrough and Claude Jones.

 

Tony was retired from Snap-on Tools of Elizabethton and was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church of Elizabethton. He enjoyed racing cars and loved Mustangs especially.

 

Those left to cherish and remember Tony include his niece, Stephanie Carr and husband Tony;

his sister-in-law, Linda Elliott; and his special friends and neighbors, Jack and Delores Arnett, R.L. and Helen Head, Dare Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Hardin and Carl Lynn Burrough. Numerous cousins also survive.

 

A celebration graveside service to honor Tony’s life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday,

March 10, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Jarrod Ellis, Tony

Carr Sr., Tony Carr Jr., Steve Burrough, Steve Hubbard, R.L. Head, Kenny Hardin, Rick Elliott,

Pat McGinnis and Gaylon Foster. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Arnett and Carl Burrough. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Happy Valley Memorial Park at 1:45 p.m. Sunday. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations in honor of Tony to Borderview Christian Church, 1338 Bristol Highway, Elizabethton, TN 37643 or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
