Willie DeVon (Winters) Troutman, 91, of Roan Mountain, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Sycamore Springs Assisted Living Center of Elizabethton. Willie was born in Roan Mountain to the late Joseph “Joe” Arnett and Bertha Winters Arnett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Jack Troutman; two brothers, Jimmy Arnett and James Arnett; and one sister, Sandra Kay Hughes.

Willie was a housekeeper for the Roan Mountain State Parks cabin rentals. She loved keeping a clean house, cooking, sewing, and feeding the hummingbirds at her home.

Willie had attended St. John Free Will Baptist Church in her early years and in her later years she attended Burbank Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed her home and being with her beloved family and will be deeply missed.

Those left to cherish and remember Willie include her sisters, Kathy Elliott, Jackie Johnson and Pat Jones, all of Roan Mountain, and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service to celebrate and honor Willie’s life will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 10, in the Troutman Family Cemetery in Roan Mountain with Rev. Richard Blevins and Rev. Bob Campbell officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be the past and present members of St. John Free Will Baptist Church and Burbank Free Will Baptist Church. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home of Roan Mountain at 12:15 p.m. Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations in memory of Willie to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
