To the Editor:
The Elizabethton STAR, Delaney Scalf and the Editorial Director, Rozella Hardin, are commended for the article A Life Lived. The article concerning Ken Calloway was excellent and described the life of this man perfectly as he lived his life as a Christian. He was one of the best I have known in my lifetime.
Ken was compassionate, a student of the Bible, and practiced the teachings of Christ. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and continued his love of aircraft by working and retiring from a career with Piedmont and U.S. Air. He was a person who, despite his own health issues, was there when others needed help
He shared his resources, supporting special youth projects at West Side Christian Church. If questions came up in the Men’s Bible Class, Ken would research the scriptures and present an answer.
We say goodbye to Ken, and we agree with a comment made by his brother from California: “We can be sure that our loss is Heaven’s gain.”
