A fundraiser for ARM (Assistance Resource Ministry) is scheduled for April 13 and is a little unique in that it is a Double DQ Quest – a walk that involves ice cream. It is a fun walk, run or ride to the Dairy Queen in Elizabethton. As the poster advertising the walk says: “It’s not a race, it’s a quest, a quest for ice cream!”
Registration is from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and your registration gets you a T-shirt and an ice cream cone from the Dairy Queen in Elizabethton. This year you can even register your four-legged friend.
Registration will be held at the overflow parking for the Tweetsie Trail in Johnson City across the street from the Dairy Queen, 103 Legion St. Then walk, run, or bike down the Tweetsie Trail to the Elizabethton Dairy Queen.
Some questers choose to drive to a more manageable starting point, which may end up being the parking lot of the Elizabethton Dairy Queen! At the end of your quest, stop in at the Elizabethton Dairy Queen for a well earned ice cream cone.
This year race organizers are including an option for a pet bandanna and of course, a doggie cup of ice cream.
This is the third year for the Double DQ Quest.
