The IAM Lady Ravens made the most of their first trip to the NACA National Basketball Championship played in Dayton, Tennessee.

Playing great on such a big stage, the girls elevated their play to a higher level as they finished third in the national tournament as they took down Columbus Christian from Columbus, IN to collect the hardware.

Eight teams were in the Lady Ravens division.

“The team is formed out of the Ministry (Independent Athletic Ministries),” said Brian Cable. “The ministry has been playing for three seasons and most of the girls have played together. Like most in our program they are made up of mostly homeschool students with a mix of private and public school students. This is the reason we are independent, we feel like everyone should have a chance to play high school sports.”

Cable went on to add that the Lady Ravens determination to be successful after going for their first time was something to witness as they played for their teammates, the program and the Lord.

Next season looks bright once again as the team is young and will only lose their one senior, Cloe Hicks, as they battle for a return trip to the national championship once again.
