The Bonnie Kate Theater is offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for fans of the historic Elizabethton theater to become part of its legacy.

As the theater prepares for temporary closure and extensive renovations later this year, the Friends of the Bonnie Kate is offering a rare opportunity for individuals, organizations and businesses to name the 225 new seats that will be installed in the auditorium.

The cost per seat will be $500 and will include a 1-1/2” x 3” engraved metal plate on the back of each seat with four lines to include a name, phrase, date, special occasion of your choosing, or other wording, pending approval by the Bonnie Kate. There will also be a special “seating chart” in the lobby of the theater, honoring those who show their support, and an invitation to a special “Meet Your Seat” gala to be held when renovations are complete.

“This can be something you do for yourself or your loved ones,” said Kathy Campbell, President of the Friends of the Bonnie Kate. “It is a statement of your support and it can be to celebrate a graduation, in memory of a loved one, in honor of a family member or a friend, to commemorate an anniversary, birthday or other special occasion.

“It’s also a great way for a business or organization to celebrate their place in the community,” she added, “and a great gift for that person who has everything. Don’t miss this chance to become part of the legacy of Elizabethton’s historic Bonnie Kate Theater.”

Due to the limited number of seats, naming will be limited to 10 seats per individual, business or organization. Seats will be named on a first-come, first-served basis and seat sponsorship is not a reservation of the seat itself.

All seat sponsorships are tax deductible and proceeds in excess of seat cost and installation will help with other capital improvements at the Bonnie Kate Theater.
