Riverview Baptist

A Resurrection Walk will be held today, March 23, at Riverview Baptist Church, 1419 Broad St.

This is a free event for the community. Families will travel through 12 engaging Biblical stations and discover the joy, sorrow, and incredible grace of Jesus Christ.

The Easter story will come alive as the Riverview church family dressed in Biblical costumes will tell the Biblical account of Easter. Children will receive a “piece” of the Easter story at each station along with a treat bag of candy and prizes at the end of the tour.

Tours will begin every 15 minutes and run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

 

Lynn Valley Baptist

A Maundy Thursday service “Come To The Table” will be held Thursday, March 28, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Lynn Valley Baptist Church.

The service will consist of a re-enactment of The Last Supper, invitation, and communion.

The public is invited.

Lynn Valley Baptist is located at 1355 Broad St.

The Rev. Tim Tapp is pastor.

 

Grace Baptist

A Good Friday service will be held March 29 at Grace Baptist Church at 6 p.m.

The public is invited to join the congregation as it reflects on the death and resurrection of Jesus.

The service will include scripture reading, music, and the Lord’s Supper.

Easter Sunday a sunrise service will be held at 7 a.m. at the Wilbur Dam Boat Ramp, followed by Sunday School at 9 a.m. and the worship service at 10 a.m.

Grace Baptist is located at 1114 Broad St.

The Rev. Travis Tyler is pastor.

 

Burbank Free Will

A live re-enactment of the miracles, crucifixion, and burial of Jesus will be presented by several churches in the Roan Mountain area this weekend at the Burbank Free Will Baptist Church, Burbank Road.

“He Is Risen” will be presented Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 4 and 7 p.m.

The public is invited.

 

Emmanuel Christian Seminary

A prayer service-walk will be held at Emmanuel Christian Seminary at Milligan University Friday, March 29. 

The event at 6:30 p.m. will be hosted by the Lower Shell Creek Church Youth Ministry and will feature David Siebenaler as guest speaker.

Following the walk, the group will meet at Pizza Inn to eat.

 

First Christian

First Christian Church Elizabethton will have worship Sunday at 9:45 a.m. and Wednesday Bible study at 6 p.m.

Palm Sunday will be observed March 24, with a fellowship meal following the service. Persons planning to attend are asked to call the church to sign up for the meal.

Movie Night is Thursday, March 28, at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. There will be popcorn and drinks. The whole family is invited to this fun night.

The congregation of First Christian will join Borderview Christian Church for a Good Friday service March 29 at 7 p.m.

Easter Sunday will include a morning sunrise service at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, a light breakfast at 9 a.m., an Easter Egg Hunt for children at 9:30 a.m., and the Easter Sunday Service at 10 a.m.

Everyone is invited.

 

Borderview Christian

Borderview Christian Church, 1338 Bristol Highway, announces services for the Easter season.

A community Easter Egg Hunt and cakewalk will be available to children from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 23.

For the Easter Egg Hunt, there will be three areas for the various age groups.

A Good Friday service will be held at 7 p.m. March 29. The service will focus on the crucified Savior with the seven sayings from the Cross.

The Easter Sunday service is at 10:45 a.m. March 31.

Both the Good Friday and Easter Sunday service will feature the adult choir musical “Champion of Love” by Russell Mauldin.

The public is invited to attend the services.

Scott Fisher is the senior pastor, and Kathy Thompson is the children’s director.

 

Roan Street Free Will

The Roan Street Free Will Baptist Church will have special singing by No Name But His on Sunday, March 24, at the 11 a.m. worship service.

The pastor, Donnie Harris, invites the public to attend.

 

First United Methodist

Elizabethton First United Methodist Church will have a Palm Sunday service at 10 a.m. Sunday, March 24.

A Maundy Thursday service will be held March 28 at 6 p.m. As in the past, it will be a joint service with First Baptist Church as part of the community Holy Week services. A re-enactment of the Last Supper will be incorporated into the service.

A sunrise service will be held at 7 a.m. Easter Sunday with the worship service at 10 a.m.

The church is located at 325 East E St.

Seeger Chapel

Easter With The Altar will be celebrated Sunday, March 31, at Seeger Chapel at Milligan University.

The event by Altar Fellowship will begin at 10 a.m.

The service will be a celebration of the Resurrection.

 

Sinking Creek Baptist

Sinking Creek Baptist Church will have an Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, March 30, from 1 to 3 p.m.

There will be plenty of eggs, candy and prizes to be enjoyed.

The church is located at 2313 Elizabethton Highway.

 

E’ton Church of Christ

A Gospel meeting will be held at the Elizabethton Church of Christ April 7-11.

Services on Sunday, April 7, will include Sunday School at 10 a.m., morning worship at 11 a.m., and evening worship at 6:30 p.m. Services Monday through Thursday will be at 7 p.m.

The guest speaker will be Steve Higginbotham.

The church is located at 137 East C Street.

 

Willow Springs

The choir at Willow Springs Baptist Church will present an Easter cantata on Easter Sunday, March 31, at the 11 a.m. worship service.

The title of the cantata is “Amazing Love How Can It Be.”

There will be no evening service.

Jacob Howell is serving the church as interim pastor.

 

First Presbyterian

First Presbyterian Church Elizabethton will have both a live and online worship service Sunday at 11 a.m.

The pastor, the Rev. Dr. Brian Wyatt, will present the sermon “Poking the Bear” based on Mark 11: 1-11.

Worship will feature a celebration of Psalms and communion for Palm Sunday.

Dr. David Roane will lead the Adult Forum discussion at 9:45 a.m. in Martin Hall

First Presbyterian is located at 119 West F St.

 

Blue Springs Christian

Blue Springs Christian Church will have an Easter Sunrise Breakfast at 7 a.m. March 31.

An Easter Service will be held at 10:45 a.m.

The church is located at 107 Don Rominger Road.

The minister is Wes McElravy.

Everyone is invited to the services.
