Paul Richardson, 85, of Butler, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at his 

residence surrounded by loved ones.

A native of Green Cove, Va., he was the son of the late Victor and Maudie Lewis Richardson, born to them on May 15, 1939. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved the Lord.

Paul retired from Empire Furniture. He attended First Free Will Baptist Church of Mountain City.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ricky Richardson and Patrick Richardson; a sister, Betty Wandin; a daughter, Debbie Davis; a son, Timothy; and his previous wife, Frances Richardson.

Survivors include his loving wife, Hattie Pearl Richardson, of 15 years; siblings, Mary Hockett, Reggie Richardson and Ralph Richardson; three children, Sandra Crain (Gary) of Johnson City, Christy Cable of Johnson City and Mark Cable of Johnson City; nine grandchildren, Eric Crain of Johnson City, Danielle Shuler (Joshua) of Bristol, Joey Coleman (Courtney) of Damascus, Whitney Coleman (Summer), Michael Austin of Johnson City, Jordan Austin (Jacklyn) of Kingsport, Destiny Cable of Johnson City, Brittany Cable of Johnson City and Zack Cable of Johnson City; and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Paul will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Greg Poe officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Washington County Memorial Gardens, Johnson City. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Eric Crain, Joey Coleman, Michael Austin, Jordan Austin and Zack Cable. The family would like to give thanks to special friends, Pat Griffey, Otis Griffey and Tony Griffey, for all of the love and care you provided over the years.
