Planning office sees slight bump in permits for March

There was a net increase of seven permits issued by the City of Elizabethton Planning Office for the month of March as a total of 70 permits were issued compared to 63 for the month of February.

The total valuation of the permits was $1,814,541 while the fees collected by the department were $18,444.

Electrical permits led the way for the month as a total of 21 were issued. Plumbing was the next highest total with 14 permits.

There were four commercial permits issued with a total valuation of $1,406,740 that generated a total of $10,617 in fees.

Five commercial mechanical permits were received valued at $313, 501 resulting in a collection of $3,277 in fees.

Other permits issued include the following:

  • Accessory structure permit (2) valued at $42,000. Fees collected – $556
  • Residential building permit (2) valued at $11,300. Fees collected – $226.
  • Demolition permit (1) no value. Fees collected $100.
  • Gas permit (3) no value. Fees collected $170.
  • Residential mechanical (7) no value. Fees collected $295.
  • Sign permits (5) valued at $41,000. Fees collected $375.
  • Temporary sign permit (8) no value. Fees collected $60.
