The deadline for East Tennessee State University’s Academic Performance Scholarship Program (APS) for the 2024-25 aid year has been extended.

APS, the university’s largest merit-based scholarship program, is available to both incoming first-year and transfer students who meet the consideration requirements.

Extending the deadline for this scholarship allows the university to provide as many scholarship opportunities as possible to incoming students.

“At ETSU, we are committed to providing as affordable an education as possible,” said assistant vice president and executive director of Undergraduate Admissions Dr. Heather Levesque. “Extending this deadline helps us do that.”

The first-year student APS Scholarship is available to Tennessee residents and students in border counties eligible for in-state tuition and is awarded based on a combination of high school GPA and ACT/SAT scores. To remain eligible, first-year applicants must apply to ETSU by August 23, provide test scores and a high school transcript and meet the requirements listed here. No additional scholarship application is necessary to be considered.

The transfer student APS Scholarship is available to transfer students from Tennessee and border counties eligible for in-state tuition and is awarded based on transferable credit hours and the student’s GPA. To be considered, transfer students must submit a scholarship application by June 15. To apply, visit the scholarship website here.

At ETSU, more than eight-in-10 students receive some form of financial assistance. While the financial aid process may seem daunting, ETSU is committed to ensuring that students receive the financial assistance they qualify for.

During this time, students are also still encouraged to complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
