Irene D. Carrier, 82, Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Hermitage Health Center.

A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Isaac T. and Ama Williams Davis.

Irene was a beautician for 60 years. She loved working in flowers and helping people. She was a member of Holly Springs Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53-1/2 years, Dallas Carrier; one brother, Donald Davis; one sister, Doris Campbell; and two nephews, Keith Carrier and Timmy Taylor.

She was a Granny to many children.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Scott Davis, Waco Davis, Dereck Campbell and DeeAnna Hall, and nieces and nephews on the Carrier Side, Jennifer Estep, Debbie Perry, Paula  Davis, Benjamin Taylor, Sharon Lingerfelt, Porky Lingerfelt, Rhonda Carrier, Andrea Carrier, Joey Carrier, Bridget Carrier, Joseph Carrier, Crystal Carrier and Brandon Carrier; several great-nieces and nephews; and a special great-niece and caregiver, Kelci Markland.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, in the Richardson Cemetery (Dry Branch Road) with the Rev. Willie Campbell and the Rev. Eric Sams officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday.
