Aileen Stevens Street, 73, Roan Mountain, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Johnson City Medical Center after a battle with cancer. She was born January 19, 1951 to the late Clay and Genieve Campbell Stevens.

Aileen was a 1969 graduate of Hampton High School. She worked as a custodian at ETSU from where she retired.

Aileen was a member of Sally Cove Creek Community Church in Hampton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Sandra Stevens; a brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Louise Stevens; and one sister, Louise Barnett.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Ronald Street; a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Greg Van Tassell, and a granddaughter, Madison Van Tassell, all of Elizabethton; two brothers, Roger Stevens and Dale (Opal) Stevens; and two sisters, Darleen Tolley and Geraldean Tolley. Several nieces and nephews also survive

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, May 10, at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Rev. Eddie McAmis officiating. Music will be by the Sally Cove Creek Church. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Friday, will be Greg Van Tassell, Steve Tolley, Allen Tolley, Alex Trivette, David Whitehead and Dale Stevens. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Friday. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Greg Van Tassell.
