Constance “Connie” Dykes, 84, passed away on May 9, 2024, in Johnson City, Tenn. She will be remembered as a strong-willed woman whom everyone loved.

Connie is survived by her children, Doreen Hyatt and Larry Miller, Robert “Bobby” (Lisa) Dykes, Karen Poarch and Van (Becky) Dykes; sister, Cheryl (Al) Parisi; nephew, Chris Parisi; grandchildren, Samantha, Amanda, Carissa, Justin, Austin, Jessica, Hollie, Matthew, Amber, Shane, Jerry, Kayla, Connie, Johnny and Wayne; as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Vestil Dykes; parents, Elza and Constance Sockey; children, William Dykes, Matthew Dykes, Connie Dykes and Manda Ruth Edwards; and grandson, Van Dykes Jr.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 7 p.m., with Pastor Mark Street and Pastor Allen Evans officiating. A graveside service will be held at Colbaugh Cemetery, Elizabethton, Tenn., on Tuesday, May 14, at 11 a.m. and everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 a.m. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at The Waters of Johnson City.
