Elizabethton Elks Club hosts annual Youth Trout Tournament

The Elizabethton Elks Club No. 1847 and Roan Mountain State Park hosted the 41st Annual Youth Trout Tournament May 11 at the park amphitheater.
Over 160 children attended and participated in the tournament, which is for children ages four to 14. The fishing tournament provides the children with the opportunity to fish in Doe River and enjoy the beauty of Roan Mountain State Park.
Prizes were awarded in three age groups: 4-7; 8-11; and 12-14.
The fishing tournament is a Drug Awareness Event for the Elks Lodge, so each child participating receives information on staying drug-free.
This year the Elizabethton River Riders also joined in on the fun and Rookie, the mascot, handed out tickets to a baseball game to all of the families attending the fishing tournament.
