“No more Lords Chicken in E town for a bit.”

“Can you guys explain this to my son so im not the bad guy? I know he won’t believe me, he’ll think I’m just trying to get out of going.”

*sad chicken noises*

Those were some of the Facebook reactions to news that the Chick-fil-A, 753 W. Elk Ave., was closing at 2 p.m. Thursday and will remain closed until sometime in the late summer for renovations. According to the location’s Facebook page, the renovation is expected to take 12 to 14 weeks and “will include an extensive kitchen expansion, dining room refresh and improvements to the drive-thru experience.”

“We will miss you, but it will be worth the wait!” the store said in a social media post.

According to a past report in The Elizabethton Star, this is the second time the store has been closed for renovations during the summer season. In July 2022, the popular restaurant underwent improvements to the drive-through, including the addition of a large canopy with heat and fans.
