The Boys & Girls Club of Elizabethton/Carter County recently hosted its annual Dino Senesi Charity Golf Tournament at the Elizabethton Golf Course on Friday, May 17, 2024. Drawing close to 100 participants, the event raised significant funds to support the organization’s ongoing efforts to serve children, youth, and families throughout Carter County.

Despite the weather, spirits were high, and the greens were in great condition as golfers of all skill levels came together for a day of friendly competition and to support kids. The tournament featured a shotgun start, closest-to-the-pin challenges, and a $100,000 hole-in-one sponsored by Rick Walters of Horace Mann.

“We are overwhelmed by the support and enthusiasm we received from the community,” said Charlene Ray, Director of Resource and Development for the Boys & Girls Club of Elizabethton/Carter County. “Thanks to our sponsors, volunteers, and participants, we are able to continue our work in providing essential services, meals, and year-round programs to the youth of Carter County.”

The highlight of the event was the Ultimate Prize drawing, which included a three-day/two-night stay at a beautiful Airbnb on the Watauga River, a Ping travel golf bag, Ping/ETSU backpack, duffle bag, shoe bag, and golf lessons, and four rounds of golf donated by Euggie Jones and the Elizabethton Golf Course. The winning team was presented with 1st place plaques, and the longest drive went to Todd Gilbert.
