“Dancer’s Dreams is an experience like no other in our 33 years in business as a private performing arts school,” said the director, Amy Simmons. “We focus on performance, stage and event experience, as well as the absolute love of dance, modeling, etiquette and fitness. We combine laughter, love and friendships with training to make special memories to last a lifetime.”

The academy’s June 15 performance, with entrance $5 at the door, will feature many different dance styles, Simmons said, including clogging, hip hop, Bollywood, praise dance, lyrical, ballet and preschool dance. Additionally, the event promises modeling and etiquette performances, as well as jump rope dances.

Students interested in summer camps may sign up at this event. The fun-filled camps will be held at the Elizabethton location July 8-9.

The schedule is as follows:

4 p.m. – ages 3-5, princess tea party dance and craft camp

4:45 p.m. – ages 6-10, princess pop star hip hop and craft camp

5:30 p.n. – adult “angel steps praise dance”

6 p.m. – free clogging camp, where the Covered Bridge Cloggers offer a free lesson of the all-American dance style.

“We are celebrating 33 years here and feel everything is bright for the future as we open a second location in Johnson City,” Simmons said. That location is at 3900 Bristol Highway, across from Winged Deer Park.

Simmons noted that all regular weekly classes will resume at both locations in August. Reserve a spot for preschool dance, tap, ballet, clogging, clogging show team, jump road team, Mommy & Me, preteen hip hop, creative movement and tumbling, Bollywood, ladies’ fitness, charm school and modeling, and etiquette and pageantry lessons.

Open house for the Elizabethton classroom will be July 30 from 4-7 p.m. at the Elizabethton Parks and Recreation location at 300 Mill St.

The Johnson City location will have two open houses: one July 29 and the other July 31, both from 4-7 p.m.

“Thank you to all the students for allowing me to be a part of your lives,” Simmons added. “I am thrilled to be opening our new Johnson City location, while still operating our Elizabethton classroom at the Elizabethton Parks and Recreation.

“We welcome all ages and levels to our dance family. Congratulations to all of our students on the 2024 recital. Enjoy the beautiful show with your families and friends there to cheer you on!”
