Tipton-Haynes Historic Site will host Summer Solstice Festival this weekend

The Appalachian Highlands Celts will host their annual Summer Solstice Festival in Johnson City on June 22-23, which includes a candy dance for the kids, Highland athletics and music, blacksmith demonstrations, genealogy research, guest speakers, merchandise vendors, and food vendors. 

Everblade Academy will host several competitions with swords, spears, and much more. This is an opportunity for the community to celebrate the beginning of summer with traditions that draw from our early history.

The Summer Solstice Festival will be held at Tipton-Haynes Historic Site, 2620 South Roan St., Johnson City. The hours on Saturday, June 22, are from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. while on Sunday, June 23, hours will be from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The cost is $10/day or $15 for the weekend for those ages 10 and above. Kids 9 and under are free.
