The Hampton Bulldogs football team is ready to put the devastation of Helene behind them—if only for a short time—and head to Mosheim for a conference clash with West Greene. The Bulldogs (1-4 overall, 1-1 conference) are led by senior workhorse running back Dom Burleson and junior quarterback Maddux Wilson.
“The boys are working hard at getting better each week,” Bulldogs head coach Michael Lunsford recently said. “Dom is not a person that needs to be motivated; he is self-motivating.”
In the Bulldogs’ last game, Burleson rushed for 180 yards and three touchdowns as Hampton rolled past Cumberland Gap 60-14. Hampton will look for Burleson to lead the way once again as they try to rebuild a season that has gone astray.
West Greene (3-3, 1-1) comes off a 40-0 win over Cumberland Gap, with quarterback Austin Franklin and running back Skylar Shelton leading the way for the Buffaloes.
Game time is set for 7 p.m.
