Lethia Oliver

Lethia Oliver, 77, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Pine Ridge Care and Rehab Center, following an extended illness.
Lethia was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Stintson and Ina Dean Buckles Bowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Lee Oliver, on February 5, 1996; a son, Benny Oliver; one sister, Ethel Bowers; and two brothers, D.H. Bowers and Ralph Bowers.
Mrs. Oliver was a homemaker and was of the Christian faith. She loved to cook, garden and spend time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter, Jean Asbury and husband Sam, Elizabethton; a brother, Hunter Bowers, Elizabethton; and her grandchildren, Melanie Campbell and husband Brady, Seattle, Wash., and Robert Asbury and Sierra Asbury, both of Elizabethton.
A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Lethia Oliver will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday, August 3, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Roy E. Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service. The graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, August 4, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Sam Asbury, Robert Asbury, Bob Wilson, James Smithey, Jack Whitt and Bill Grant. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, at 9 a.m. Monday to go in procession. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Pine Ridge Care and Rehab Center for all the love and care shown to Mrs. Oliver and her family during her illness.
