The Carter County Animal Shelter is seeking community support through pet adoption sponsorship. For $35, you can sponsor the adoption of a dog or cat. Shelter officials said they desperately need to find homes for cats.
Shelter volunteer Conley Clark said they have been receiving cats at almost triple the rate that they are being adopted, and they are almost always full already.
The animal shelter will host a fundraiser this Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at PetSense at 776 W. Elk Avenue, and pets will be available for adoption. Sponsorships are welcome by cash or check.
