On being a Cyclone

“Cyclone football means being part of a brotherhood—you have a bond with your teammates that no one can take away from you. One thing I will take away from these four years is teamwork. Everyone on the team has to work together if they want to get the job done.

“The feeling you get when you are inside the helmet is indescribable. You know that you’re about to go to battle with your brothers.”

Wrapping it up

“It’s unbelievable that I’m in my last season. Time truly does fly when you’re having the time of your life.

“I want my teammates to be able to say that I never gave up on them and that I was a great teammate.”

Most memorable game

“Without a doubt, it would be the Science Hill game this year. We snapped an eight-year losing streak which seemed impossible to most. That game taught us to never give up, no matter the score or time left on the clock.”

Drawing inspiration

“One person that inspires me would have to be my Grandpa, Roger Miller. He served in the U.S. Military and to this day will go out of his way to help anyone.”

Being looked up to

“I want younger kids to be able to look at me and see the hard work that I have put into getting where I am today.

“I also want them to see me having fun out there because that’s what it’s all about.”

Coached up

“Coach (Shawn) Witten and Coach (Jeff) Pierce make sure that you give the maximum amount of effort. If you don’t give max effort, they will make sure you know about it.”
