SEYMOUR (AP) — Police are looking for an East Tennessee man accused in a stabbing attack that killed his mother and injured his grandmother, authorities said.
The Sevier County Sheriff’s Office is seeking Josh Carr, 30, of Seymour, in connection with the Wednesday morning attack, Deputy Chief Michael Hodges told news outlets. Carr is considered dangerous and may be armed.
“Our focus right now is to get him in custody,” Hodges said. “The search is still ongoing and we are working with local, state and federal agencies to find this suspect.”
Carr’s mother, Pam Carr, 56, was found with multiple stab wounds and later died, the deputy said. Carr’s grandmother was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, he said.
Deputies have obtained warrants for aggravated assault and a homicide warrant is pending, the Knoxville News Sentinel reported.
