To the Editor:
Although I have only lived in TN CD-1 for three years, I have come to see how politics are different here from the other southern communities I was born in and have lived in. It seems people either vote Republican or Democrat too often without examining the positions and capabilities of the candidates. Unfortunately, that is front and center in the race of our next Congresswoman.
Diana Harshbarger (R) and Blair Walsingham (D) present themselves as differently as night and day. Blair has detailed information on her platform, including the why and how she plans to get there. She is very available to the public through virtual forums and issue presentations, meet and greets and live and virtual Q&A sessions. Diana had little detail on her website and Facebook pages and the only event listed is a fundraiser that requires tickets to attend.
I have spent my entire career in the nursing profession at public as well as VA facilities and have repeatedly seen high level promises made but not delivered on, especially for our veterans.
I am requesting Diana to have a virtual forum with Blair so we, CD-1 constituents and voters, can make an informed decision in the upcoming election.
Please join me in making her aware of this request.
Their websites are: www.votefordiana.com and www.blairforcongress.com. You can also visit their Facebook pages.
