Linnie Mae (Dearmin) Johnson, 83, went into the arms of her loving savior, Monday, October 5, 2020. She was a devout Christian and loved to worship with her church family at Burbank Freewill Baptist Church. She was a forever fan of The Dallas Cowboys, Duke, and most of all the Cloudland Highlanders. She left behind a legacy of love, laughter, and memories.
She was a beloved wife of 66 years to Bruce Johnson of Roan Mountain. A loving and devoted mother to three children, Sam Johnson of Johnson City, Wade Johnson of Roan Mountain, and Jada Blevins (Mike) of Elizabethton. She was an amazing grandmother to Josh Johnson of Roan Mountain, Leia Holder (Nick) of Elizabethton, and Lindsay Rigsby (Jonathan) of Maynardville, Tenn. She had two great-grandchildren, Tenley and Roan Rigsby; a brother, Jim Dearmin (Betty) of Boone, N.C.; a special sister-in-law, Pat Johnson (Bill) of Roan Mountain; and loyal friend, Jean Rowlett of Kingsport, Tenn. She will forever be missed but is in the arms of her Lord rejoicing with loved ones that have already gone on.
A visitation for family and friends to remember Linnie will be conducted on Thursday, October 8, from noon until 2 p.m. at the Burbank Free Will Baptist Church. A graveside service will be conducted privately in the Johnson Cemetery at a later time. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Carter County is mandating that all citizens who live in or visit Carter County wear masks or facial coverings in public. All those attending the visitation are required to adhere to this mandate. Also, social distancing recommendations must be observed.
