Richard Eugene “Rick” Culler, 59, Elizabethton, passed away Monday, November 9, 2020, at Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary Alice Ledford Culler.
Rick was a 1978 graduate of Elizabethton High School. He was an Electrician-Salesman at Cline-Holder where he had worked for 15 years. Prior to that he had worked for several years at Paty Lumber Company. He loved to work in his garage and on cars. Rick was an avid NASCAR fan. He never met a stranger.
Rick was a member of Upper Gap Creek Free Will Baptist Church and attended Sinking Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Jimmy Wagner.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Robin Wagner Culler; one daughter, Dr. Heather Culler and boyfriend Brett Hamilton; his brother, Keith Culler; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins; his mother-in-law, Jean Wagner; his sisters-in-law, Sherrie Mackley and Angie Sells; a brother-in-law, Jimmy Wagner; and special friend, Tammy Matheson.
A service to celebrate the life of Rick Culler will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, November 13, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Greg Largent officiating. Music will be provided by No Name But His. Honorary pallbearers will be his family, friends, co-workers at Cline-Holder and customers. A special thank you to the doctors, pharmacists and staff in the ICU at Johnson City Medical Center and Franklin Woods Hospital, and a special thank you to Tara, Dakota, Dina, Cathy, Logan and Alica, also the doctors and pharmacists at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Va., and his many prayer warriors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Rick to Sinking Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
