In their first meeting, the Elizabethton Lady Cyclones weren’t at full strength when they took on the Lady Irish of Knox Catholic and as a result, took a loss.

However, when the Lady Cyclones are at full strength its always a different story as Coach Lucas Andrews team enacted a little revenge for their first meeting loss with a 58-49 win over the Lady Irish.

The Lady Cyclones came out gunning in the opening half to build a 32-24 advantage on the strength of five treys.

Senior Torrie Roberts was stroking the cotton from deep totaling nine points on three treys in the opening 16 minutes of play. Renna Lane had a big hand to play in building the eight-point advantage as she tallied eight points.

Morgan Headrick tallied six points while Lina Lyon chipped in with four points.

Just like in their first meeting, freshman Sydney Mains was the go-to for the Lady Irish as she dropped in 17 of her game-high 29 in the first half.

Both teams had a rough bump in the road offensively in the second half as the Lady Cyclones could muster only six points in the third period while Knox Catholic found the going tough in the final period as they recorded only eight points.

In the end, however, the Lady Cyclones found a way to pull out the victory.

Three Lady Cyclones reached double figures led by Lane with a team-high 14 points while Lane and Roberts finished with 13 and 12 points respectively.

Aside from Mains who totaled 29 points, Jaz Williams totaled nine points.
