Cathy Sue Mathes Mann, 67, Elizabethton, went to meet with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was born August 20, 1953 in Elizabethton.
Cathy was a graduate of Hampton High School. She loved to decorate cakes, loved to collect dolls and take photos of her family. She attended Zion Baptist Church.
Cathy was preceded in death by her father, James Guinn, and a brother, Richard Guinn.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Robert “Bob” Mann; two children, Melissa Blackwell, Johnson City, and Scott Mann and wife Amber, Hampton; five grandchildren, Caleb Blackwell, Justin Blackwell, Caitlyn Blackwell, Taylor Mann and Sebastian Mann; five great-grandchildren; her mother, Betty Guinn Stout; three sisters, Sarah Davis and husband Mike, Angie Hayes and husband Scotty and Patsy Moore and husband Gary; a brother, Johnny Guinn and wife Kim; her sister-in-law, Donna Guinn; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 18, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Dr. Alan King officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Lunceford, James “Shadetree” Matherly, RV Mann and John and her cousins. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the Jelly Bean Salon and the staff of Ballad Cancer Center.
