The Tennessee Department of Health has launched a campaign to ensure Tennesseans stay healthy this flu season.
The health department announced that all county departments across the state will provide community members with free flu vaccines on Nov. 9.
The Northeast Regional Health Office has announced vaccine locations, hours and contacts for those who wish to get the flu shot in one of the drive-thru clinics.
Vaccines are being offered at the following locations:
Locally, a flu clinic will be held at the Great Lakes Workforce Development Facility at 386 Highway 91, Elizabethton, from 2 to 5 p.m.
The Johnson County Drive-Thru Clinic will be from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Johnson County Industrial Park, 165 Industrial Park Road, Mountain City.
The Washington County clinic will be from 9 a.m. to noon at 219 Princeton Road, Johnson City.
The Unicoi County clinic will also be from 9 a.m. through noon at 101 Okolona Drive, Erwin.
The drive-thru initiative is part of the “#Fight FluTN” campaign to get people vaccinated against influenza ahead of flu season.
The Tennessee Department of Health urges all Tennesseans ages 6 months and older who have not yet received a flu shot this flu season to get one as soon as possible. The shots are free and no appointment is needed. Drive-thru participants will not have to leave their vehicles. Pre-registration is not required.
The drive-thru clinics will be much like how coronavirus testing is done; folks will not leave their cars when getting a vaccine.
