Jonesborough man charged with aggravated domestic assault

JONESBOROUGH – Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested and charged Nathan Daniel, 33, Jonesborough, with aggravated assault (domestic) on Feb. 22.

According to Sheriff Keith Sexton, deputies responded to the 400 block of New Hope Road regarding a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. When deputies arrived on scene, they found a victim with minor injuries being treated by EMS.

Upon further investigation, deputies discovered the accident was the result of a domestic dispute. Evidence discovered at the scene indicated an altercation occurred between Daniel and the victim. When he fled, Daniel struck the victim with his vehicle. Deputies located and arrested Daniel a short time later.

Daniel was transported to the Washington County Detention Center and is being held on a $50,000 bond. He was scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m., Feb. 23.
