Carter County Bank to reopen Broad Street branch Monday

After over a year of planning and construction, Carter County Bank’s Broad Street location will open its doors again Monday, Feb. 25, bringing with it roughly 80 years of locally-owned banking traditions to the people of Carter County.

Marketing Director Rebecca White said the new location features a number of improvements compared to the original building, including a tribute to Carter County’s history.

“It will feature a historical timeline of important events in Carter County history and the history of the bank,” White said.

The project’s construction began in June 2018, featuring a collaboration of companies including Reedy and Sykes and Burleson Construction.

“This renovation and investment is another example of our commitment to the community to provide the best banking experience possible,” Carter County Bank president Andrew McKeehan said.

Carter County Bank has been in operation since 1939, and this is one of five locations across the county.

Some of the improvements to the new facility include easier access to the building via two entrances on opposite sides of the building, with the customer service section standing in the middle of the lobby.

She also said the location will now be more energy-efficient as well, bringing an eco-friendly take on the business.

“Carter County Bank is deeply committed to delivering face-to-face interaction for its customers while also staying up-to-date with the advancements of technology and other banking services,” White said.

Part of this dedication to technology will include interactive teller machines to address customers directly as well as three drive-through lanes.

“We have long held the tradition of excellent customer service,” McKeehan said. “The new layout will give us the opportunity to improve the customer experience within the bank through a more efficient use of our lobby space.”

The bank will open for regular business on Monday, but they will continue to work on the parking areas and landscaping for the next few months. White said they are currently planning a Grand Reopening Ceremony for June 2019.

Regular lobby hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays.
