Hampton vs South Greene

The Hampton Bulldogs traveled to South Greene and came home with a 2-1 win.

David Fleenor had two base hits, while Stone Hutchinson, Jerry Lunsford and Austin Vines all recorded one hit.

Pitching for the Dogs was Hutchinson, Wyatt Lyons, and Lunsford. Lunsford was credited with the win as Hampton only allowed four hits.

Unaka vs Cloudland

The Unaka Rangers recorded another win against the Cloudland Highlanders, 19-5

The game was competitive up until the fifth, when the Rangers flooded Roan Mountain with 12 runs.

Softball

Happy Valley vs Sullivan East

It was another big night for Happy Valley as Kalee Johnson threw a three-hitter against Sullivan East, during the Lady Warriors’ 13-2 win.

Johnson recorded nine strikeouts for the game.

Emily Whitaker blasted a homerun while going 2-5 from the plate. Beth Reece went 3 of 4.

EHS vs Sullivan South

The EHS Lady Cyclones took a 23-8 win over Sullivan South as pitcher Kelli Cunningham recorded her first high school win, after coming in during the second inning.

Kelli’s sister, Jessica Cunningham recorded six hits for the night as Lauren Brickey blasted a home run and five hits.

Unaka vs East Side

The Lady Rangers held on to win 9-8 over East Side.

Sarah Hardin started from the mound, and Corie Scheuttler finished out the game with the save and win.

Coming into the bottom of the seventh, the Lady Rangers were down 5-8, but won after the go-ahead run from Chelsea Grubb.
