MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Oct. 16, 2015) – The Milligan College men’s basketball team has been selected to finish third in the Appalachian Athletic Conference, according to the preseason coaches’ poll released Friday.

Milligan received 70 voting points, eight out of second place, Truett-McConnell, and two ahead of fourth place, Bryan. Union, who won last year’s AAC regular season and tournament championships, was chosen as the league’s top team once again, earning 100 voting points and all 10 first-place votes.

“We are excited for the season,” Head Coach Bill Robinson said. “The guys have been working hard and we are looking forward to our first exhibition game next week. We are happy about being picked third but the preseason poll is just a reflection of last year’s team. We still have a lot of work to do to be that good.”

Last season, the Buffs (20-11, 12-6 AAC) were selected to finish sixth before earning the regular season runner-up and a spot in the AAC tournament championship game. Milligan also punched a ticket last year to the NAIA Men’s Basketball National Championship.

Milligan will open the 2015-16 season with a home game on Saturday, Oct. 31, at 4 p.m. against nearby King University. The Buffs AAC schedule starts on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Tennessee Wesleyan.
