Larry Lynn Hyder, 64, Unicoi, passed away Friday, April 11, 2014, at his residence
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Cecil and Nell Leona Davis Hyder.
Larry was a graduate of Hampton High School and Lees-McRae College, Banner Elk, N.C. He was a pipefitter and plumber. He was a member of Roan Mountain Masonic Lodge #566 and was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Hyder.
Survivors include his wife of 41-1/2 years, Teresa Leonard Hyder; two daughters and sons-in-law, Melanie and Shane Smith and Misty and Gary Bennett; a grandson, Kody Baucom; two granddaughters, Jordan Smith and Mattison Bennett; a brother and sister-in-law, Myron and Wanda Hyder; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Steve Harsh; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; a sister-in-law, Angela Williamson and husband Jeff; a brother-in-law, James Leonard and wife Lisa; and his beloved dog, Brutus.
Funeral services for Mr. Hyder will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Campbell officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Roan Mountain Masonic Lodge #566, members of the Local Union #538, Johnson City, his sons-in-law, his nephews, cousins, Kody Baucom, Doug Gouge, Ron Godsey, Junior Buck, Ed Deloach, Lynn Treadway, David Horton and Larry Shoun. Masonic services will be conducted following the funeral service by Roan Mountain Masonic Lodge #538. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at his residence. It was his wish to be cremated following the funeral service. Condolences to the Hyder family may be e-mailed to mfc@chartertn.net.
