Kathy Sandra Street Hughes, 63, of Hendersonville, N.C., passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Four Seasons Hospice House.
She was the daughter of the late Dexter and Mary Stockton Street and was born in Roan Mountain. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was known for her good cooking.
Survivors include three children, Shannon Hill, Bradley Roark and Scottie Roark; eight grandchildren, Jacqui Hill, Jessica Hartley, Jordan Hartley, Taylor Aldridge, Nathaniel Roark, Logan Roark, Chelsea Roark and Jacob Roark; two great-grandchildren, Jaylee Hill and Gracelynn Bugg; two brothers, J.R. Street and wife, Shirley, and J.D. Street and wife, Shirley; one sister, Jeanette Wells; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 19, in the Rhododendron Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Roan Mountain, with the funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. John L. Stockton officiating. The graveside service will follow the funeral in the Stockton Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Roger Stockton, Gary Stockton, Barry Stockton, Dale Robertson, Steve Buchanan and Harold Jarrett. Honorary pallbearers will be Lanny Hughes and Wayne Stockton.
